Lehmann&Voss&Co. was distinguished by the competent Hamburg supervisory authority (Office for Occupational Safety) for an exemplary occupational safety system on 25 September 2013.
The reasons for the recognition include several topics which are particularly relevant for occupational safety and accident reduction and are "lived" by the company.
These include, for instance:
Decline in the number of accidents and the accident ratio
Deployment of a safety circle, (essentially composed of the plant managers, the occupational safety officer and the head of SuU) in which questions relating to occupational safety and security are regularly discussed, assessed and corrective measures are co-ordinated
Deployment of a health circle, which plans within the framework of the corporate health management, inter alia, activities/health days
Participation in the Responsible Care initiative and specific corporate responsible care guidelines derived from it
Organisation of a year of occupational safety (2012)
Implementation of a system-supported measure tracking system in occupational safety
Rewarding of improvement suggestions on occupational safety
Co-operation project with a city district school, including a focus on early imparting of safety relevant aspects in professional life
Of 4,137 undertakings reviewed and assessed only 239 companies have been awarded an "exemplary" assessment. Consequently, Lehmann&Voss&Co. is among the best 6 % of Hamburg companies in the field of occupational safety and in good company with highly renowned companies.
