Chinaplas 2022 - LEHVOSS Group presents numerous new developments in the areas of high-performance compounds, 3D printing materials and additives & masterbatches

High Performance Compounds:

This year, the focus is on materials for electric mobility and, in particular, plastics for heat management. Among other things, special LUVOCOM high-performance compounds for components in heat pumps will be presented. These are characterized by tailor-made mechanical, tribological and thermally conductive properties.

Another segment are high-strength and light materials from the LUVOCOM XCF product line for innovative bicycle components. An injection molded frame for high quality bicycles is presented. LUVOCOM XCF enables the required high rigidity and strength while maintaining competitive costs.

For medical technology, LEHVOSS offers an updated portfolio of high-performance plastics, with a focus on PEEK. Colored, reinforced and rheologically optimized compounds are on offer. These meet the special requirements in terms of biocompatibility, sterilizability, resistance to media and radiation, X-ray and NMR transparency and compliance with the applicable ISO 10993.

3D Printing Materials:

As a black-colored polyamide 12 powder, LUVOSINT PA12 9270 BK is not only perfectly suited for automotive applications, but also generally for the industrial production of black components. In addition, LUVOSINT PA12 9270 BK is the sustainable further development of well-known PA12 materials. With traditional laser sintering powders, around 50% of the unsintered building space powder is waste that can no longer be used in the process. LUVOSINT PA12 9270 BK can be fully reused in subsequent construction processes, so there is no unnecessary waste. This makes laser sintering with PA12 much more cost-effective!

Additives and Masterbatches:

The blowing agent masterbatch LUVOBATCH PE BA 5821 enables significant component weight savings to reduce the carbon footprint. This is demonstrated using a car door panel made of PP/PE T10. The weight reduction achieved with 1% propellant is 23%. Further advantages are excellent bubble fineness and component surface, significantly reduced cycle time, low VOC value (volatile organic compounds) and odorlessness. Also on offer are chemical blowing agents for film extrusion and injection molding with PP, PE, PA, PET, HIPS etc. For excellent foam structure and surface quality. Low VOC and odor for endothermic CFA. Tailored CFA for IXPP foams. Available as granules and powder.

Other innovations include LUVOBATCH masterbatches for blown, cast and BO films. Non-migrating lubricants for PE, PP, PA and PET layers. Customized processing aids for PA/EVOH layers and heat-stabilizing masterbatches for PA and PP layers. Solutions for TPO leather. Customized AO and UV masterbatches. Highly efficient PE flame retardant masterbatches. Tailored CFA masterbatches for IXPE/IXPP foams. Solutions for PP and PA automotive cable ducts. Heat-stabilizing PA (175°C) and PP (150°C) masterbatches. Customized, halogen-free flame retardant PA masterbatches and compounds (UL94V0).
