Océ, a leading manufacturer of printing machines, has opted for LUVOCOM® 50-7856/FR/BK from Lehmann&Voss&Co. in Hamburg to replace metal in its cartridge holder.
Replacing metal by polymers is nothing new, but replacing more then 10 metal parts with spring constructions by one polymer made very high demands of the material. It had to guarantee the required accuracy for printing which means a dimensional stability to meet tolerances of
± 0.05 mm, a maximum surface resistivity of 105 ohms, high stiffness, very good flow properties and a flammability compliant with UL 94 V-0. Apart from meeting the technical requirements, the change to LUVOCOM® 50-7856/FR/BK also had to bring about a reduction in production and assembly costs.
