LUVOMAXX participates in WdK research project “Bio-based antioxidants”

Many established antioxidants in the rubber industry are highly effective, but they and their degradation products are increasingly associated with environmental problems.

And they are in danger of being "blacklisted" as SVHCs due to increasingly stringent regulations as well as REACh-related new toxicological findings.

Sustainable remedies can be provided by naturally occurring chemical compounds with antioxidant properties. To evaluate the mode of action of selected representatives of this substance class in elastomer applications, the German Rubber Industry Association (WdK) has set up a joint research project together with the renowned German Institute for Rubber Technology (DIK), to which Lehmann&Voss&Co. belongs in addition to well-known companies of the German rubber industry.

The first orienting investigations show promising interim results. The research project is initially scheduled to last 2 ½ years.

In the medium to long term, our participation in this project will provide us with a know-how edge that will enable us to advise customers and offer our own products / problem solutions.
