Phylcare® Sodium Hyaluronate

The active ingredient sodium hyaluronate, better known as hyaluronic acid, is a natural component of the skin. Hyaluronic acid ensures soft and smooth skin, as it can bind water very well and works for a very long time. Unfortunately, the body's own production of hyaluronic acid decreases continuously from the age of 25. At the age of 40, the proportion of hyaluronic acid in the body has halved and at the age of 60 it is only around 10% of the initial level. Therefore, with age, the skin loses its elasticity and forms wrinkles.

The LEHVOSS Group's Phylcare® Sodium Hyaluronate has a moisturizing effect that noticeably improves skin elasticity. Furthermore, the skin is given a finer structure and the formation of wrinkles and wrinkle depth are visibly reduced. In order to counteract the skins aging process, Phylcare® is often used as an anti-aging ingredient in products such as eye creams, skin and face creams and nourishing masks.

Phylcare® Sodium Hyaluronate has a moisturizing effect, even in relatively small concentrations of 0.1-0.2% and, depending on the molecular structure, forms a thin film on the skin that ensures smoothness and firmness. Dried out skin with a damaged skin barrier, receives a moisture boost and experiences immediate relief. After the application, the skin is perfectly prepared for care products with lipid replenishing agents.

Advantages of Phylcare:

  • Anti-oxidative effect,
  • Protective effect against UV damage (for reddened skin and   sunburn)
  • Prevents premature aging of the skin
  • For skin diseases such as eczema
  • Reduces the feeling of tension in the skin
  • Promotes wound healing as it keeps the damaged tissue moist.
  • In the treatment of lip herpes.

Phylcare® Sodium Hyaluronate is differentiated according to molecular size (kDa). A distinction is mainly made between high-molecular [“long-chain”] hyaluronic acid and low-molecular [“short-chain”] hyaluronic acid.

Phylcare® HW Plus, is a high molecular hyaluronic acid, it consist of molecules with a size of 1.800 kDa and larger and cannot penetrate the skin barrier. Together with the keratin of the skin, it forms a moisturizing film on the skin when it evaporates. High molecular hyaluronic acid has anti-inflammatory properties, a nourishing effect and gives the skin more elasticity.

Phylcare® XS, Extra XS are low molecular weight hyaluronic acid made up of molecules 100 kDa and smaller that penetrate the skin barrier and are absorbed into the skin. They ensure that water is also stored in the connective tissue of the skin, making the skin plumper and firmer and visibly reducing wrinkles.

In addition, Phylcare® MW, LW, Extra LW, is so called medium-molecular hyaluronic acid, the molecular mass of which (approx. 100 kDa – 1.800 kDa) lies between that of high and low molecular weight. The properties are similar to high-molecular hyaluronic acid, e.g. moisturizing and strengthening the skin barrier function.

Phylcare® OL-HA are extremely short-chain hyaluronic acid (<10 kDa), the so-called oligo-hyaluronic acid. This penetrates even deeper into the skin. However, as the molecular mass decreases, the ability to bind water also decreases.

All Phylcare® Sodium Hyaluronate are beneficial for the skin. For us, a combination of all types is therefore the best choice.
