LUVOCOM® | High-Performance Compounds

Since 1983, the LUVOCOM product line has stood for innovative and technologically leading thermoplastic compounds for injection molding, extrusion and compression molding. Since then, she has continued to push the boundaries of what is possible with plastic.

Thanks to an almost free selection of polymers, reinforcements and additives, in connection with our expertise, over 4,000 materials have already been created, often tailored to the application. This means that users have a portfolio of highly efficient and proven materials at their disposal.

With our LUVOCOM products, we are a market leader for carbon fiber reinforced, high temperature resistant, tribologically modified and electrically and thermally conductive compounds.

Examples of modifications and properties

Carbon fibers enable particularly high-performance materials. For example, we offer LUVOCOM carbon fiber compounds with extremely high strength, currently up to 425 MPa, stiffness up to 52 GPa, electrical conductivity and high dimensional stability with low weight. We also often use carbon fibers for tribological compounds. The result is wear-resistant and friction-optimized components.

For especially high operating temperatures of up to 320 °C, we supply high-performance compounds based on various polymers. Depending on the polymer used in each case, even high temperatures do not present any problems: Typical applications include mechanical engineering, medical technology and parts subject to high stresses for the engine compartment and drive train in the automotive sector.

Tribological LUVOCOM compounds are lubricant-modified polymers. These materials often make additional surface lubrication unnecessary. They reduce the wear and energy consumption of assemblies.

Conductive LUVOCOM has decisive advantages over metals or coatings: these materials offer a great degree of freedom in design; the finished parts have a lower weight, are easier and more cost-effective to manufacture and are also tougher.

Plastics are poor heat conductors. The thermal conductivity in standard materials lies between 0.1 and 0.4 W/mK. By using special additives LUVOCOM materials from this product group achieve significantly higher values of up to more than 30 W/mK. Through our special expertise in compounding, we provide you with precisely the material you need to meet your requirements. Electrically conductive and electrically insulating products are also available.

Detectable LUVOCOM offers a broad palette of tailor-made solutions for these special requirements. All the versions supplied are easy to process and are characterized by the attractive surface of the finished components. Segregation of the additives is ruled out. Pigmentations are possible in numerous colour shades.
